Practice what you know and it will help you to make clear what you do not know. The artist sees what others only catch a glimpse of. You can also look at the picture for a second and think of it all your life. You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again. The artist is not a different kind of person, but every person is a different kind of artist. Painting is just another way of keeping a diary. Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands is a labourer.
